I read this question on a She Recovers email, and it struck me that it was a possible God Wink!
How can you let go of what no longer serves you and call in how you want to feel?
In this short episode, I will share some of the radical changes I am making this summer to increase my self-care. I am practicing what I preach!
I will not listen to the Monkey Chatter that says this is a bad idea, that I should be able to do it all, and that I am letting others down.
I need to reposition my oxygen mask squarely on my face, so I can be the healthiest version of me for all the people I love and serve.

The tenant of all good recovery comes from how we show up and embody our values. Therefore, I made a healthy decision for myself, my family, and my growing business. Embrace Family Recovery is taking a break from releasing weekly podcast episodes, and daily social media posting for this summer.

I already have some fabulous guest recordings completed for a fall release. The Embrace Family Recovery Podcast will return on September 4, 2022, with an exciting guest lineup.

A little backstory. Like so many of us, I have had a significant personal and professional journey during the COVID years. Most significantly, my mother passing in March of 2021. I began transitioning out of a full-time decades long career at Hazelden Betty Ford in May of 2020. I started my coaching business in February of 2021. After completing a coaching intensive training

We moved to a new state and home in April of 2022 and find ourselves supporting my dad’s healthcare changes. Just writing that makes me want to take a nap. And I haven’t come up for air.

So, in keeping with my belief and my teaching, that self-care is primary, I’m taking a break from a few aspects of my fantastic business to breathe, refocus and rejuvenate.

A priority is building my recovery community in North Carolina. I will continue to work with my fabulous clients.

As a newly designated SHE RECOVERS Coach, I am eager to immerse myself in the mission and community of SHE RECOVERS.

I am working on some exciting new program offerings, including adult family group intensives, public speaking engagements, an exciting book giveaway of many of the authors who have generously been on my podcast as guests.

I will enjoy my dad, explore and play in the mountains with Rob and Abbi, and traveled to the Big Apple to see Amelia.

I wish you a summer where you can prioritize your self-care. Take action that looks like you matter! And that if you’re tired, listen to your body and take time to smell the roses.

Remember to listen to the podcasts I have already made. There are 68 prior episodes filled with family recovery stories. All episodes of The Embrace Family Recovery Podcast can be found on my website, or on your favorite podcast streaming channel.

I look forward to sharing how it all went when The Embrace Family Recovery Podcast, Season 3 returns on September 4, 2022.

Until next time, take care of you.

And thank you for being loyal listeners and supporters. And even though I have a little tear in my eye saying this, I’m trusting the process and believing that even though I’ll be gone for a few months, my loyal listeners will choose to come back in September and hear really exciting new content from some amazing guests.

In the meantime, know that I am not going anywhere. I will be available to anyone who may need my help.
